[GUIDE]How to report a hacker Empty [GUIDE]How to report a hacker

Post by DeadSand Sat Sep 26, 2009 1:47 am

This is a good FRAPS Guide I found on the net. I thought it would be very helpful to all. Enjoy.

What is Fraps?
Fraps is a program to record your game anytime.
You can use it to record hackers and then report them to the Admins,GMs,Forum.
With Fraps you will have the ultimate proof that someone is a hacker/botter/scammer because you can record him in action.

First of all, you need to download and install the next files:
Fraps (to make the movies):
http://www.fraps.com/download.htm

VirtualDub (to make the file size smaller):
http://virtualdub.sourceforge.net/

DivX (this will install the right codec for resizing):
http://www.divx.com/divx/windows/

Fraps version 2.5.3

Ok, so you have installed the program.
I will now explain the whole program step by step.

When you start the program you will 1 window :

In this window, check the options 'Start Fraps minimized' and 'Run Fraps when Windows starts'
The other option is optional.

This screen isn't important so leave the settings as they are.
For the next step go to the tab 'Movies'.
Now this screen is the most important one as it has all the options about making the movies.

1. The 'Change' button:
When you hit this button a little screen will pop-up.
In this screen you will have to select the folder where you want the movies to be saved.
2. The 'View' button:
When you want to view your movies, hit this button and you will automatically be redirected to your movies.
3. The 'Disable' button:
This button is one you should never use.
If you press it, your 'Video Capture Hotkey' will be set to 'none' so you can't record anything.
4. The 'Video Capture Hotkey' text box:
This allows you to change your 'Video Capture Hotkey.'
Select the text box, hit the key you want to be the hotkey.
You're done.
5. The 'Record Sound' check box:
Check it and the video will have sound, uncheck it and the video will not have sound.
6. The 'Half-size/Full-size' options:
Whatever you do, keep this on Full-size!!!
If you do not, you will not be able to read anything that is said.
For example, you are playing TribeMu Season 4 MU and someone is
insulting your mummy, you will not be able to record this when you have
it on 'Half-size' because you won't be able to read the text.
The rest of this screen is not important, leave it as it is.

Lastly, go to the tab 'Screenshots'.

This screen isn't very important too since you can make screenies with
the 'Prt Sc' button, located at the top right of your keyboard, too.

1. The 'Change' button:
When you hit this button a little screen will pop-up.
In this screen you will have to select the folder where you want the screenshots to be saved.

2. The 'View' button:
When you want to view your screenshots, hit this button and you will automatically be redirected to your screenshots.

3. The 'Disable' button:
This button is one you should never use.
If you press it, your 'Screen Capture Hotkey' will be set to 'none' so
you can't make a screenie of anything (Note that in Muzone MU you can
still make screenies.)

4. The 'Screen Capture Hotkey' text box:
This allows you to change your 'Screen Capture Hotkey.'
Select the text box, hit the key you want to be the hotkey.
You're done.

The other options aren't important, leave them as they are.

Now go and start Muzone MU Online.
You will notice a yellow number on the top left of your screen.
If you press your 'Video Capture Hotkey' you will notice that the number turns red. Your video is recording now.
When you press the button again it will stop recording and the number will turn yellow again.
Note that after 30 seconds the video will stop recording automatically.
If you want to make longer videos you will have to register Fraps.

When you look in the folder where your videos are saved you will see your own video.

Fraps version 1.9D

So you have the 1.9D version?

Okay, when installed and started you will see:

The 'Overlay corner' options:
Change these to make the position of the yellow number in game change.

Movie options:

The 'Enable video capture - Hotkey (F9)' option:
Make sure you check this option for this is needed to record the video.
You can change the button if you like.

The 'Movie framerate' options:
Set this to 25fps.
It will make the movies look nicer.

The 'Advanced options':
If you check the option 'Enable screen capture - Hotkey' you can make screenshots with Fraps too.
You can change the hotkey if you like.
If you check the option 'Start Fraps minimized' the program won't pop-up on the screen when you start it.

The other options aren't important, leave them as they are.

Now go and start TribeMu MU Online.
You will notice a yellow number on the top left of your screen.
If you press your 'Video Capture Hotkey' you will notice that the
number disappears and there will be the word 'REC' in red. Your video
is recording now.
When you press the button again it will stop recording and the yellow number will return.
Note that after 30 seconds the video will stop recording automatically.
If you want to make longer videos you will have to register Fraps.

When you look in the folder where you installed Fraps you will see your own video
